Sad for you if you got a court case in LA county today and you need an interpreter.

Ticked off about crummy pay increases since becoming employees instead of t contractors way back in  2005, fully 240 court interpreters have went on strike today and were absent from work. The strike caused problems for cases in the county.

A non determined number of interpreters went on strike in other counties as well, for moral support.

One interpreter  of the Spanish language and 10 year experience claims that court interpreters are indenspensible and that their work  be recognized.

The LA court system says the interpreters make more than 73000 dollars a year and in this year received a 4% increase

Most folks are wrapping up their home improvements for the warm season. New decks, remodeled kitchens, over hauled bathrooms. Dont’ forget the new lighting. If you still need lighting, buy lighting here.

If you know and enjoy lighting like I do you would love George Kovacs lighting! This particular piece has 8 lights, with angular adjustment to light even the most stubborn room. Darkness will flee this wonderful track lighting set by George Kovacs, and it will stand out as primary decoration while still being a functional house device.

Being a delicate bronze, and just 10 inches high and 264 wide, its size and color allow it to preside over any room in your home, and remain delicate and still a focal point. The conversations held under this mounting will often be about this mounting.

Musician Shot Dead

Filed under:Controversial, News — posted by Tom on @ 7:05 pm

A musician in Texas who was made famous twice was shot to death by a scared neighbor just 72 hours after a new  law went into place that extended the rights of  victims to use kill people to protect themselves.

Jeffrey Carter Albrecht, the keyboardist from Edie Brickell and the new Bohemians and more recently of the band Sorta, was shot fatally  in the head because he was banging on his girlfriends neighbors door.

The gunman shot through the door assuming that Albrecht was breaking into his home. Albrecht’s girlfriend said he was suffering a reaction from the mixture of anti nicotine medicine and booze.

The new legislation expands the “stand your ground” law by allowing  citizens  to use deadly force to protect themselves on the job and in cars, trucks. Protecting your homes with deadly force had already been in place.

This law grants immunity from civil repercussions as well
