Preserving Wood

Treated wood is wood that will last the weathering process of of the 4 seasons, the storms and the sun. When you build something of wood, you put your back into it, and you want it to last because of the time and effort and money you put into it. You don’t want it to weaken and rot and so on, from rain, or to be made brittle by the sun. So you make sure your wood is treated and properly preserved.

So if you put up a fence on your ranch for example, and you use wood, agricultural fence should be treated and sealed to preserve the wood. Else the effects of nature will over time be adverse to the wood, limiting the structures lifespan.

These are important facts to remember when building with wood, more so, where the wood is directly placed into an area with the elements.

The Fire In California

Filed under:News — posted by Tom on @ 8:41 pm

A firefighter in California with 21 years of experience was absolutely shocked by what he saw.  He said there were piles of smoldering ash next to homes that were in perfect condition. He thinks it is absurd how the fire will attack soem thing and not others, like it burns on a whimsy.

In San Diego county 513,000 residents have already been evacuated in this area which is hit hardest by the fire. The fire may yet spread and the numbers will likely rise higher.

The fire fighters are working to protect the homes that are left, but the fire is not yet controlled, and experts dont think it is possible to fight the fire until the winds die off.

Wheels

Maybe you are a person who really likes their vehicle. People that like their vehicles often are constantly upgrading them, they get custom parts, custom paint jobs, add all kinds of nifty stuff to them.

Wheels generally fall into those categories. Wheels, and rims, are a huge part of things like car shows, and custom drive-ins. A common size is 17 inch wheels, and these are a point of pride, but the size does extend up to 22 inches, and if i recall, 20 inch wheels are the best. Not too sure, but 20 inch wheels is what I hear talked about the most.

If you are a person who really gets into customizing their vehicle you will definitely want to get custom wheels, as they are reported to be better than the custom ones, and certainly look nicer giving your vehicle that “wow!” look.

Wheelfire.com has discounted wheel packages available. Check them out and see if they got what you are looking for  to customize your vehicle.

Police Kill Man

Kind of an old story, but depending on your view of it, a very disturbing one. I am bothered by it, but I just found out about this recently. Maybe if enough people learn and understand, and are as deeply bothered as the rest of us, maybe then justice may occur. Someone needs to be held accountable for this. Thats my opinion and it cannot be changed. That was completely wrong. the officer could have owned up, and it would have made it easier to handle, but he lied and the police department lied with him. thats the most disturbing thing. It could happen to you.

Lose Your Accent

Want to advance in your career? Its time to learn business speech, it is time to lose your accent. It is a statistical fact that people with accents are passed over in promotions because it is the accepted norm that non-accented English is easier to understand, and it is that way because it is true.

You should take a course on executive language training if you are serious about corporate and professional communication. You can learn more that speech rhythms , you can learn the vocabulary to communicate clearly with less effort that you did before, and your supervisors will notice it.

Putting this off will not assist you, but taking advantage will get you further, in personal goals, and in professional goals. Everyone wants to get ahead, now you can give yourself the edge to be a step ahead of them.

Communicating is something we do constantly, and as such the returns will be tenfold. there are things we learn and never use, but I can guarantee you that you will always use this skill.

A man from Minden, Nevada who was arrested for a DUI,  was arrested again, this time while out on bail for the DUI, and drinking a 12 pack on the courts lawn. Not too bright.

When he went in front of the judg, he asked the judge to release him to his own recognizance, and promised not to drink anymore. The judge was shocked he had been released to his own recognizance previously and set the bail at 100,000.

His original arrest was shortly after his 21st birthday, when he and 2  passengers were injured when he drove down a winding mountain road at 70 miles per hour, with a blood alchol level of .104%. Nevada’s legal limit is .08%.

Cameras

Filed under:Criminal Law — posted by Tom on @ 4:30 pm

Ah security cameras! they catch the bad guys committing crimes. So when a shop supervisor was beaten and the store was robbed it was caught on camera. Good stuff, and police set about investigating the crime.

Cameras are not discriminatory, they catch everything not just the things you want it too. So when the camera was looking around it saw the store supervisor coem in the store on his day off, with the man that robbed the store. It seems the supervisor set the robbery up… and the assailant was his friend.
