Michael Mukasey is New Attorney General

Attorney General Mukasey was sworn in today in Washington. His oath was given privately in his new office by Assistant Attorney General for Administration Lee Loftus.  The senate approved Mukasey’s nomination Thursday and he flew into Washington from New York to accept his new position Earlier this morning.

Mukasey will be formally sworn in however, an official date hasn’t been set at this time.  There was much controversy revolving around Mukasey after he expressed his views on electronic surveillance and waterboarding.
